
Reinforcement of RC beams in bending and shear with FRP sheets
The flexural reinforcement of reinforced concrete beams is achieved by applying, to the intrados or extrados, pultruded carbon fiber sheets, pre-impregnated with epoxy resin, available in different sizes. Before applying the system, it is necessary to clean and prepare the support. The shear reinforcement with FRP composite materials is achieved by applying, in adherence to the surface to be reinforced, unidirectional or bidirectional fabrics consisting of one or more layers. After preparing and applying the primer on the surface to be treated, applying the epoxy adhesive, the fabric is laid out with a special metal roller and the epoxy impregnator is applied on it.
