Reinforcement of RC beams in bending and shear with FRP fabrics
Beams and pillars are a fundamental element of the frame structure. It is therefore important that they are adequately reinforced so that they can provide the right contribution of resistance even in the event of a seismic event. The flexural and shear reinforcement of beams is obtained by applying carbon fiber fabric to the surface to be reinforced, after preparing the support and applying primer. To reinforce the beam in flexural strength, the fabric is placed on the intrados and/or extrados, while for shear reinforcement, the fabric can be arranged in bands perpendicular to the axis of the beam.
