The seismic improvement intervention was carried out with the aid of certified FRP carbon fiber composite systems, following the serious damage caused by the earthquake of October 30, 2016 in Norcia. The consolidation of the pillars was carried out using transverse wrappings, so as to achieve an improvement in the shear resistance and an increase in the confinement effect of the concrete. The result was a minimally invasive intervention that did not cause increases in mass or changes in the geometry of the resistant sections. At the end, the effectiveness of the work performed was validated by pull-off tests.
