Kimitech EP-IN/50

Fluid epoxy resin used for impregnation of FRP systems

Kimitech EP-IN/50 is a low viscosity two-component fluid epoxy resin with structural adhesion to concrete, steel, wood, stone material. The product is solvent-free and does not shrink when it hardens, due to the chemical reaction of the two components. its extremely wetting, it easily penetrates into cracks and microcracks (up to 0.3 mm thick).

Applications

Injection on damaged structures (reinforced concrete, wood, masonry) to restore perfect structural monolithicity and obtain the necessary static characteristics.

Certifications

Kimitech EP-IN/50 is CE marked as structural bonding according to EN 1504-4 and as an anchor for steel reinforcement according to EN 1504-6.

Application

The surfaces concerned must be perfectly dry (mortars and concrete of new buildings must have a curing period of at least 2 weeks), free of inconsistent parts and free from dust, grease, paints and release agents in general. Pour component '' B '' (hardener) into component '' A '' (resin) and mix with a low-speed drill (200-300 per minute) until a perfect amalgam is obtained, taking care not to incorporate air during mixing. In the case of fractionated mixes respect the proportions in weight (and not in volume) indicated on the packages. In the consolidation of wooden structures, mix with very fine sawdust to create visible fillings, mix with Kimifill HM (a part by weight of Kimitech EP-IN/50 with 6 parts by weight of Kimifill HM) to restore inconsistent parts. For injection works, use a special MM/TL or AC/TL gun or low pressure pump. In case of anchoring or filling on mixed masonry structures, where considerable dispersion may occur, the product can be loaded with Kimifill VR4 powder to reduce fluidity. Mixing it in a ratio of 1 to 10 in weight with Kimifill HM (a part of Kimitech EP-IN/50 with ten parts of Kimifill HM) to create an epoxy mortar used for flooring and for highadhesion and resistance grouting on reinforced concrete structures . For reinforcements using the ''Beton-Plaque'' technique, sand both concrete and steel surfaces involved in the bonding to eliminate cement slurry and residual extrusion waste. Concrete substrates must first be treated with a coat of Kimicover FIX. If it is used for FRP reinforcements, once the surface to be treated has been prepared and Kimitech EP-TX or Kimitech EP-TX/311 epoxy adhesive have been applied. Lay the fabric and, with a suitable metal roller, press lightly on it to facilitate adhesion to the adhesive and avoid the formation of dangerous air bubbles. Apply Kimitech EP-IN/ 50 by brush on the fabric in several coats to favor the total impregnation of the fabric itself. All these operations will be performed fresh on fresh.
