Intradosal reinforcement of floors with FRP
Following a seismic event, change of intended use or loads applied to the floor, it is not uncommon for floors to present lesions or otherwise prove to be structurally deficient, requiring reinforcement. There are two different ways to intervene: application to the intrados of FRP reinforcement systems consisting of carbon fiber strips of various weights or carbon fiber sheets, glued with epoxy resins. The intervention consists of applying carbon fiber sheets or fabrics directly to the restored intrados of each beam constituting the floor. The system initially involves the use of primer and the application of thixotropic epoxy adhesive necessary to create an adhesive layer for the subsequent application of the reinforcement.
