Kimitech PLUG VR
Pre-formed “L” connector with improved adhesion
Kimitech PLUG VR is a preformed “L” connector with improved adhesion, to be used in combination with Kimitech WALLMESH meshes, consistent with the approach defined in the guidelines on the qualification of CRM (Composite Reinforced Mortar) systems which reiterate the need to qualify the entire reinforcement package.

Application
Make sure the substrate is completely hardened, resistant and free of loose parts. In the presence of existing degraded plaster, strip the surface until obtaining a substrate with sufficient resistance. Clean and saturate the substrate by low-pressure washing. Remove any efflorescence and salts by washing or mechanical systems such as brushing, sandblasting or hydro-sandblasting.
On particularly irregular or poorly absorbent substrates, before applying the structural mortar, provide a rough coat.
The temperature of the substrate must be between +5°C and +30°C. After carefully preparing the substrate, before applying the first layer of lime-based structural mortar, wet with low-pressure water until completely saturated; any lack of saturation could cause the mortar to not adhere and crack. Apply by hand (with a stainless steel trowel or spatula) or with a plastering machine a first layer of structural mortar for a thickness of about 1.5 cm, leaving the surface sufficiently rough to allow the adhesion of the next layer. Position the alkaline-resistant fibreglass mesh from the Kimitech WALLMESH range, resting it on the still-fresh mortar. Proceed to create holes of a suitable diameter, at least 4 per m2. Insert the Kimitech PLUG VR connector and grout the hole with Kimitech EPOXY CTR or Kimitech VINYL CTR epoxy resin. Apply a second layer of mortar to a thickness of approximately 1.5 cm.
