Following the earthquake of October 30, 2016, our M15 hydraulic lime-based fiber mortars were used to secure the damaged walls of the entire historic center of Norcia. The intervention was coordinated by the Superintendency of Umbria and carried out by the Fire Brigade Command. The mortars, sprayed onto the damaged walls, were used on the city walls and in almost all of the city's religious buildings. Among these, the Basilica of San Benedetto and the Church of the Madonna Addolorata. The purpose of the massive intervention was to protect the walls from further disintegration caused by possible new tremors, the harsh Norcia climate and atmospheric events. The securing of Norcia represents a unique case in the world and an intervention model, in our opinion, useful for safeguarding the heritage in the event that similar natural disasters were to occur.
