Intradosal or extradosal reinforcement of vaults and domes with diffuse FRCM
The structural reinforcement of brick, stone and tuff vaults with FRCM systems, consisting of basalt fibre mesh and natural hydraulic lime-based mortar, consists of preparing the support and applying a first layer of roughcast to the wall facing with 5 mm thick natural hydraulic lime-based mortar, in which the basalt fibre reinforcement mesh is partially embedded. The subsequent covering with mortar must also have a thickness of 5 mm, thus respecting an overall reinforcement thickness of 1 cm. Depending on the type of support to be reinforced, the reinforcement system can be applied on one side only or on both sides, using transverse bow connections made using galvanized zinc steel fibre or stainless steel reinforcement fabric.
