Mortars and meshes for CRM reinforcement system certified with ETA

Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33

Rigid structural mesh made of preformed fiberglass

Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33 is a preformed structural mesh in composite material made of glass fibers, impregnated with thermosetting resin, used in combination with lime-based mortars from the Tectoria, Limepor and Basic lines or cementitious mortars from the Betonfix line to create reinforcements on masonry and concrete products with the reinforced plaster (CRM) technique

Applications

Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33 is used for the repair and reinforcement of structural and non-structural elements with the CRM reinforced plaster technique. The system is able to give an increase in strength and ductility to the reinforced structure and to uniform the redistribution of stresses. It allows compression, bending and shear reinforcement of masonry taps and concrete walls and pillars.

Certifications

The Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33 mesh is CE marked in accordance with the provisions of EAD 340392-00-0104: "CRM (Composite Reinforced Mortar) Systems for strengthening concrete and masonry structures", with ETA 24/0114 certificate.

Application

To ensure the adequate collaboration of the reinforced casting with the Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33 mesh, connection systems must be provided in all interventions ad hoc. The number and arrangement of the connectors must be evaluated by the designer in relation to the masonry quality of the element to be consolidated, the type of intervention envisaged and the design stresses to which the structure is subjected. We recommend the use of preformed "L" connectors in fiberglass and Kimitech PLUG CRM thermosetting resin, which are part of the CRM package in possession of ETA certification. In order to prevent the mesh from being pushed into direct contact with the substrate during application, as it is not incorporated into the casting and cannot adequately counteract movements and shrinkage in the short and long term, it is essential to proceed as follows: • Demolition of the existing plaster and the decoesed parts and scarification of the bedding joints. • Washing and wetting of the surface at saturation. • Possible reconstruction of missing or particularly damaged parts of masonry. • Application of a first layer of scratch coat to the wall face with a thickness of about 1.5 - 2 cm. • Installation of the mesh, partially incorporating it into the fresh mortar of the scratch coat, overlapping the mesh bands for about 15 - 20 cm in order to ensure mechanical continuity. • Installation of the corner elements • Execution of the pre-holes and insertion of the connectors; • Application of plaster with design characteristics for a thickness of about 1.5 - 2 cm. In the case of plasters reinforced with Kimitech WALLMESH CRM 33x33 mesh, the subsequent skimming with Limepor EDO must be carried out to complete the curing of the plaster, so as to seal any shrinkage lesions that may be generated, especially in the case of thick plasters.
