Dehumidifying mortars of hydraulic lime NHL 3.5

Limepor RZ

Mortar based on natural hydraulic lime for making desalinated roughcasts before macroporous plasters

Limepor RZ is a ready-to-use anti-salt roughcast mortar based on natural hydraulic lime NHL 3.5 and eco-pozzolan, with aggregates of maximum grain size 3 mm.
It has a low content of water-soluble salts.
When in contact with water, lime reacts to form hydrated products that are very poorly soluble and very stable, of a basic nature.

Applications

Anti-salt roughcast and bonding bridge of Tectoria DEUMIDIFICA and Limepor MONO mortars, to create a multi-product system for the remediation of rising damp, to be used for both recently constructed and historically interesting buildings, characterised by high salinity. The system is characterised by high lightness, breathability and porosity, applicability in any exposure condition.

Certifications

Limepor RZ is CE marked as an internal and external mortar GP CS IV according to UNI EN 998-1.

Application

Remove the plaster to a height equal to the maximum point where the humidity is noted, increased by double the thickness of the wall. Clean the surface thoroughly by eliminating inconsistent parts (such as, for example, the mortar between the masonry blocks), grease, old paint and any other material that could compromise the good anchoring of subsequent work.
Brush and hydro-wash the masonry to saturation. Mix the product with drinking water, mix thoroughly in a cement mixer until you obtain a homogeneous mixture of fluid consistency (mixing time approximately 3-4 minutes).
Apply the mixture with a trowel, taking care to distribute it evenly over the entire surface, (this first splash should not be smoothed, but left rough) creating a rough coat with a thickness of 5 mm. If some areas of the masonry, after 1-2 days, still have leaking salts and/or very wet areas, apply a further coat of rough coat with Limepor RZ following the instructions already illustrated.
Wait 1-2 days (at 20°C), wet the wall support to saturation (to avoid shrinkage cracks), wait for the surface to dry, and then create a preliminary gripping spray on it with Limepor RZ, on which, wet on wet, apply the dehumidifying mortars Tectoria DEUMIDIFICA or Limepor MONO. creating, over the entire surface, a minimum thickness of 2 cm, taking care not to compact the mortar excessively when finishing with a trowel.
The subsequent smoothing must be carried out after the plaster has completely cured (minimum 3 weeks), so as to seal any shrinkage cracks that may arise especially in the case of creating plaster in large thicknesses. In case of large thicknesses and non-homogeneous or weak supports, it is advisable to insert the Kimitech 350 mesh into the chosen finish.
Any final painting must be carried out after the surface has completely dried and using products permeable to steam.
