Aderflex RP
Fast-setting cementitious adhesive for ceramic tiles
Aderflex RP is a grey, quick-setting, powdered cementitious adhesive for ceramic tiles (walkable and groutable after 3 hours, at a temperature of 20°C), free from chlorides, ferrous particles and other materials harmful to the user and the equipment used.
Applications
Aderflex RP is used for laying all types of ceramic tiles indoors and outdoors, both on walls and floors. It is used for bonding on existing clean coverings and floors. For bonding on surfaces subject to deformation, it is mixed with Kimitech ELASTOFIX as a substitute for water. Do not use on metal structures, bituminous membranes, anhydrite screeds and for bonding green marble.
Certifications
Aderflex RP is CE marked according to the UNI EN 12004 standard as a C2FE adhesive (cementitious adhesive, with improved adhesion, rapid setting and extended open time).
Application
Lay on cementitious substrates that have been seasoned for at least 28 days and on gypsum plasters with humidity not exceeding 10%. The product must be applied on compact substrates that are not detached, free from dust, grease, wax, old crumbly paint and any material that could compromise its good anchoring.
It is essential to treat the substrate with a coat of Kimitech ACR in the case of gypsum and scagliola plasters and anhydrite screeds.
To prepare the product, add the quantity of clean water indicated in the table and mix thoroughly with a drill at low speed (200-300 rpm) until a homogeneous, lump-free mixture is obtained. Apply the product using a spatula with the appropriate teeth, taking care to spread evenly in a thin layer first with the smooth part of the spatula and then go over it again with the toothed part.
For laying large-format tiles, for all external applications and for tiles with dovetail teeth it is essential to spread the product on the side of the tile as well.
Aderflex RP has a workability of 45 minutes at 20°C; do not add water or remix a mixture that has already started to set in an attempt to make it workable again because it would lose all its chemical-physical characteristics.
The open time, at a temperature of 20°C and in normal humidity conditions is approximately 25 minutes: this can decrease significantly in the presence of very absorbent substrates, with high temperatures, dry wind, beating sun. In these cases, to extend the open time, wetting the support, protection from the wind and beating sun helps a lot; in any case, before laying the tile, you must always check that a "skin" has not formed on the surface which must be removed by going over it again with the notched trowel.
Never throw water into the adhesive immediately before laying the tile.
The treated area must be protected from washing away for the first 3 hours.
