KIMIA announces its participation in the prestigious "International Training Course on Post Crisis Recovery of Cultural Heritage (PCR-2025)". The course is organized by ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) and Fondazione Santagata, in collaboration with the Giovanni Goria Foundation and the support of KIMIA and the ALIPH Foundation.

ICCROM's International Training Course is reserved for researchers and experts representing design firms, public authorities and organisations working to safeguard heritage in crisis areas. For the 2025 edition, experts from Ethiopia, Nepal, Palestine, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Cyprus, Honduras, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sudan, Turkey, the USA, Japan and Brazil are participating. The aim of the course is to exchange knowledge and experience in the field of conservation of historical and cultural heritage, providing the fundamental tools to plan and design forms of intervention in post-conflict scenarios and crises caused by natural disasters.

KIMIA is once again the only private company in the world to have been invited by ICCROM to offer its technical contribution and support to the course. For this reason, he has already participated in the first online part in recent days, while he will be in Asti, at the Giovanni Goria Foundation, for the second phase in presence until 22 November.

Online KIMIA illustrated to the participants the experience of securing the entire historic center of Norcia destroyed by the earthquake of October 30, 2016. In Asti, on the other hand, it will offer an entire day dedicated to demonstrations of the application of special mortars for the restoration of masonry and innovative structural consolidation systems, compatible with historical and listed assets.

The day of installation demonstrations will be held on November 20 at the CFS - Ente Unico per la Formazione e la Sicurezza in Asti and will take place in collaboration with the CESF - Centro Edile per la Sicurezza e la Formazione di Perugia. To illustrate techniques and intervention solutions will be Ing. Stefano Agnetti, head of the Technical and Scientific Office of KIMIA and Roberto Munzi for CESF Perugia. Finally, on November 21st, KIMIA will hold a final theoretical part dedicated to the theme of the degradation of masonry works with investigations and cases taken from Norcia and Amatrice. The topic will be discussed in collaboration with Prof. Alessandro Grazzini, professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin expert in consolidation and seismic improvement of historic buildings, structural consultant on behalf of ALES, an in-house company  of the Ministry of Culture.

Stefano Agnetti said about KIMIA's contribution to the course: "To be invited by ICCROM and to have such an important space is a great honour. Furthermore, comparing ourselves with experts from all over the world is a huge stimulus because we want to know points of view different from ours. But we would also like to tell you about our experience in the field of safeguarding historical heritage and show what techniques and solutions can be used in the conservation of cultural heritage. Italy is at the forefront in this field and through the day of practical applications we will try to understand whether what has been done in our country can constitute a model applicable in international contexts where heritage is at great risk".
